Roulette is originally a French game and now one of the most popular games in casinos. Unlike other casino games like blackjack or craps, roulette is more of a spectator game, since you are only involved in the betting of game. Croupier starts spinning and launches ball on to it. Just before ball starts slowing down, croupier waves his hand and signals 'no more bets', after which no player is allowed to bet or modify his earlier bet. After ball completely stops, croupier places a plastic marker on winning number and starts collecting lost chips and pays those players who won. Wait until croupier removes the plastic marker, before you reach out to grab your winning chips.

Roulette wheels in casino are categorized as European and American roulette wheels. European wheels contain 37 slots ranging from zero to 36 and the American version has got 38 slots, because of the additional slot of double zero (00).

Bets are usually branched under two categories – inside bets and outside bets. Inside bets usually are those, which involve the number or combination of numbers, the player thinks will fetch them a win. These bets range from placing a bet on a single number to placing a bet on a group of six numbers. The amount of money you win decreases with the increase in number of values you choose to bet.

Outside bets are usually the one related to whether ball lands in red/black/odd/even numbered slot or you can choose a set of 12 numbers and place your bet. If the winning number belongs to your set, you are paid 2:1. Similarly, other combinations also exist.
